this music makes me see things in my mind. no modern american or european music can do this. there’s an undeniably arabic feel to this piece. such beauty.

For those of you saying it’s got a middle eastern feeling instead of chinese, think about the name, it’s called the “Great Desert” and that’s referring to the Silk Road, which of course ran through middle eastern countries. Just imagine a silk merchant caravan trudging through a desert in the hope of great fortune while listening to this song, you’ll get the feeling.

Juan, Someone needs a hug today! I do play flute in an Irish band. Note that the microphones are VERY far from the player. There’s no way they could pick up the music without a lot of breath noise too. This is as fake as a three dollar bill. I kinda feel sorry for the guy, setting all this up, and for what reason?

There’s something un-kosher here. Mr. Ma Di, are you “lip syncing” to recorded music? Also, are you playing a flute of the same key as the one on the recording? The one on the audio track sounds like it’s pitched too high for the rather large flute you are playing.

Learnign any instrument is a challenge, but in fact a flute is a reletivly simple instrument to play fairly well with a bit of time and dedication. The Guitar however is allot harder as is the Piano.

Want the easy way to learn flute? Do what the school kids too, learn the recorder and how to read simple sheet music first, then learning the flute afterwards will be fairly strait forward. Of course, naturall tallent is always a factor. But anyone can learn to play an instrument fairly well!

    most beautiful sound ever…

  22. Nanyanguo says:

U mean if no talent ,still can learn to play until like a sifu?. Nah I am no sifu material. Have been there, done that but still play like an amateur. Maybe another time in another life. This life only in my dream. Anyway , thanx for your positve notes.

  23. stupidelf says:

just get a instrumment and start playing.

thats what i did. and now iv been playing piano for almost 2,5 years

  24. jmggarden says:

ahhh man so freakin beautiful I can’t get over it…If I could just learn to play music…any kind of music I would be happy…now if i could learn to play it that beautifully that would be awsome. I love flute music with a passion but truthfully i would settle with just learning how to play the guitar at this rate, now if only i could get my hands on an instrument…huh, sigh…

P.S. jmgarden finds it neccessary to point out that this is not him posting this comment.
